Civil engineers build the world’s infrastructure. In doing so, they quietly shape the history of nations around the world. Only by exploring civil engineering’s influence in shaping the world we know today, we can creatively envision the progress of our tomorrows.Students and faculty gain knowledge and experience relevant for their further successful career growth in sphere of civil engineering.

1. A National Level Students’ Technical Symposium was conducted on 23 -09-2009. Dr. N.Palanisamy, Head, Corrosion Production Division, CECRI, Karaikudi and Dr. M.Lakshmi Pathi, Professor in Structural Engineering Division, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, SRM University , Chennai Delivered the Inaugural Address and valedictory address respectively.
2. A one day workshop on “Innovation in construction” was conducted on 30.01.10 by the Chief Guest Dr. Sivamoorthy Reddy Professor, Pondhicherry Engineering College.
3. A National conference on “Recent Advancements in Construction and concrete Technology” (NCRACCT’10) was conducted on 23.04.10. Dr.L.S.Jayagopal, M.D., Mithran Structures, Coimbatore and Prof. S.R.Dhamodarasamy, Principal, Government College of Technology, Salem delivered the Inaugural address & the valedictory address respectively.
4. Valedictory function of Civil Engineering Association was held on 23rd April 2010 and the Chief Guest Prof.S.R.Dhamodarasamy, Principal, Government College of technology, Salem, delivered the valedictory address.
5. Civil Engineering Association and ICI Student Chapter was inaugurated by the Former Secretary General Indian concrete Institute, Chennai.
6. A National level Technical Symposium “PEACE” was conducted on 22.09.10, Mr.R.Radhakrishnan, Secretary, General, Indian concrete Institute, Chennai and Mr.Karaiadiselvan, Director, CADD centre Training Service Pvt Ltd., Chennai. SRM delivered the Inaugural address & the valedictory address respectively.
7. Our Civil Engineering students presented various papers in many Colleges & participated in the events like Technical Quiz, Brick bonding, Poster presentation, Model making, Code cracking, CADD content photography, creative writing & puzzle house contest and got the prizes.
