The hostel is meant to be a home
away from home for students. The inmates of the hostel
are expected to be friendly and co-operative with their
fellow students.
- No student should indulge in any undesirable activity
thereby causing problems to the smooth functioning
of the hostel.
- Smoking or use of liquor or any other intoxicant
or playing cards is strictly prohibited. The guilty
will be expelled from the hostel with immediate effect.
- Study hours are from 8.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. and
students should devote these hours only to their studies.
- Attendance will be taken every night and kept for
record.
- The girl students should enter the hostel before
6.00 p.m. and the gents hostel inmates should enter
before 8.00 p.m. Late comers will not be allowed to
the hostels.
- Prior permission should be obtained from the hostel
authorities for entertaining visitors / guests in
the hostel. They are expected to maintain order and
discipline.
- Medical facilities are available. A Medical Practitioner
visits the hostel twice a week to provide medical
care.
- Possession of any electronic gadgets, which include
music systems, FM Radio, Video games and Mobile phones
are strictly prohibited. If found, they would be liable
for seizure and only be returned to the parents personally.
- Students will be charged for the breakages such
as Tube light fittings, fans, stools, window glasses,
etc.
- Visiting hours on workings days are between 4.30
p.m. and 6.00 p.m. and on holidays between 10.00 a.m.
and 6.00 p.m. The visitors for girls students should
produce visitors ID card, and only then they will
be allowed to see their wards.
- Students are not allowed to go home every week end.
They are allowed to go home only twice in a semester
after submitting the requisition letter from their
parents in written form; phone calls or telegrams
shall not be entertained in this regard.
- Violating the hostel rules will invite severe punishment
to the extent of being expelled from the hostel without
any intimation to their parents.
- A separate declaration form containing the hostel
rules and regulations of the hostels will be issued
to the students at the time of joining the hostel
every year. This must be signed both by the students
and their parents.
- Fine will be imposed to students absenting themselves
without prior permission.
